We certainly did jump over January and landed straight in February! Nonetheless, it's one of
the best months of the year and there is so much to celebrate. But this time around, we want to celebrate the clothes you already wear and that are in your closet. So let's set the mood right, shall we?

Do you remember the first time you picked up your favorite garment that you still own? What was it that made it become your favorite? Was it the color, the feel, the durability? Or was it the style? Either way, you fell in love with it so much that you still have it to this day. You and that piece probably have a number of memories that could be shared. And who wouldn't want to hear about that?! We would!
But now, depending on how long you've had this garment for, are you starting to see some wear and tear? Has the fit changed? After laundering and living in your favorite garments, it tends to happen over time. It's such a life well lived and one that us brands and designers love to see. However, the next question is, has it changed so much or has your style/taste changed that you don't find yourself picking it up as much? Or are you worried about those worn areas looking a certain type of way? That's also completely understandable.
We're here to tell you that you shouldn't worry about it or feel like you have to get rid of your favorite pieces due to some wear and tear or a change in its fit or your style. You can continue to love your favorite clothing with a wardrobe refresh! Here are a few tips and ideas for refreshing your clothes:
Visible Repair: Fix the small holes or larger ones with beautiful creations everyone can see. Visible repair can range from patchwork to various embroidery techniques. It's a fun way to add flare to your wardrobe that speaks to your personality. Whether you prefer it to be bold or subtle, it's a great way to extend the life of your clothing and to create a conversational aspect.
Invisible Repair: Exactly as it sounds and the most difficult type of repair, but it can be completely worth it. It takes a lot of skill to achieve an invisible repair, which takes more than an inner patch or stitch witchery to fix a hole or tear. This can include reknitting a hole in a knit garment or, if the tear or hole isn't far from a seam, moving the seam slightly. The aim with invisible repair is for it to truly look like there wasn't any wear or damage done to your favorite piece.
Alteration: If fit is the main issue with you fave garment, alteration is a great choice. If you love it but haven't worn it much because it's too big or too long, a simple fix can go a long way. You'll also get more wear out of it if it fits comfortably and flatters you. Luckily there are a number of places that service alterations, from dry cleaners to your local seamstress.
Redesign: Of course, this is one of our favorite options, especially if your favorite garment isn't fitting the same or giving you that spark anymore. Redesign can be intensive just like producing any new garment except there are just a few extra steps. However, it allows for the biggest change, especially depending on how you want your fave garment to match your current energy. No longer want your shirt to be a shirt but maybe part of a pair of bottoms or something else? No problem. Redesign allows you to get as creative as you want.
Upcycle: Maybe the most dramatic change of all. Similar to redesign except we're taking it a step further. If your favorite style is beyond wearable repair or redesign, you can upcycle parts of it into a bag, hat, patch, etc. The options are endless; and, you'll still have a part of your favorite garment to carry with you. A great upcycled accessory is also a great conversational piece.
So don't worry, you can continue to love your favorite garment, or fall in love with it all over again with it's new characteristics and stories to share. When you're looking for a wardrobe refresh, remember you have options that might just surprise you and save you a little cash and peace of mind.
